Thursday, 12 November- Site Visit - NOW FULLY BOOKED
Delegates have the opportunity to visit the Pacific Coast Terminal and the Kinder Morgan Vancouver Wharves, Canada’s sulphur outlet to the world sulphur market
The visit will consist of a combination of bus tours and presentation. Delegates will stop at the halfway point for a three course lunch on The Port Moody Boathouse – located on the water at picturesque Rocky Point Park, with dramatic view of Burrard inlet and Seymour Mountain.
Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Ltd. (PCT) is a bulk commodity marine terminal. The terminal currently handles formed sulphur, with an average throughput of approximately 3 million tonnes per year, and ethylene glycol, which averages 1 million tonnes per annum. The tour of PCT will consist of a brief presentation about the terminal and then a bus tour of the facility to view the sulphur handling equipment.
Kinder Morgan Vancouver Wharves’ dry-bulk system caters to the needs of Canada’s sulphur and fertilizer exporters. Opened in the early 1960’s and completely rebuilt in 2000, the facility provides fast railcar-unloading and vessel-loading services required to compete effectively in today’s competitive global marketplace.
