06 November 2023, London/Singapore: Today, CRU, the global commodities business intelligence company, announces the appointment of Linda Zhang as its new Battery Metals Asia-Pacific (APAC) Lead.
In this newly created role, Linda will play a key role in enhancing CRU’s expertise of the region’s increasingly complex, but essential, mid-and downstream battery supply chains. Amidst rising local protectionism, battery manufacturers are under mounting pressure to secure essential raw materials and accelerate production to align with the targets set by local governments. In her new role, Linda will be supporting CRU’s clients navigate these challenges and those that arise from rapidly evolving market dynamics.
Before joining CRU, Linda was a principal analyst in a global metals and mining company, specialising in numerous battery-related commodities. Prior to this, she was an experienced nickel analyst at Wood Mackenzie.
Simon Morris, Head of Base & Battery Metals at CRU, comments:
I am really delighted that Linda has joined our Base & Battery Metals team. Given her genuine depth of knowledge on the region’s battery value chains and her previous experience as a CRU client, she is going to add tremendous value both to our expertise and to our product offerings. I look forward to working with her and the rest of team as we deepen our engagement with all battery-related stakeholders in the region.
Linda Zhang, Battery Materials APAC Lead, says:
I am really excited about starting this journey with CRU. My goal is to empower our clients with CRU's unique insight and data, supporting them to navigate through uncertainties and risks. The learning goes both ways, and we greatly value the opportunity to learn from our clients.
