Alex opened CRU’s Sydney-based office and is the head of CRU Australia and New Zealand. He manages Australia, Japan and Korea’s consulting assignments, including due diligence for M&A transactions, reliance reports for project financings, and independent expert work, leading coal market submissions to the IPC, strategy advice and State and Federal Government policy advice.
Prior to joining CRU, Alex worked as a commodities analyst at Citigroup and Bank of America Merrill Lynch for a period of 12 years where he covered bulk commodities and base metals. He was then appointed manager of Market Analysis at Xstrata, where responsibilities included the formulation of the company's business strategy, marketing plans, budgeting, business development and M&A analysis.
